if you're running around, you may find a floating, slowly rotating symbol in the shape of a skillpoint (eg, cog for mechanical) they're usually bright colours. green, blue, yellow etc. go up to it and press a and you'll gain it.
PC:
If you want to gain a point for creativity, paint a picture, if muscle, buy a weight lifting machine. keep trying on whatever you buy and your sim should gain a point.

Why do Sims worry and or cry about their aspiration?
Sims in the Sims 2 computer game usually cry and/or worry about their aspiration if their aspiration meter is low. (The aspiration meter is the little bar next to the Wants and Fears slots. To improve their aspiration meter, complete some of their wants.
