Just finished playing, wondering that myself. Apprently you have to either be beat up by the cops with thier hands or a night stick rather than getting killed by gunfire. You appear right out of the police station. I stole the cop car, a cop saw, he shot a round into the door, i stepped out next to him, and he arrested me. So apprently if you stop your car next to a cop and come out unarmed they get ya to.

Which godfather game better 1 2?
i used to have "The Godfather" on PS2 & i now have "The Godfather II" on PS3. What I think is that, the GF2 is better for graphics but the GF1 is more fun to play.

You get a crew in this one allowing you to have a small team come with you and help you out, such as machine gunners or demolition personnel, you can blow gas manes and kill basically whoever you like. There is a wide array of weaponry and the HUD is much easier to navigate in Godfather 2.
