How do you get Mesprit in Pokemon Diamond?

Be prepared for the long haul with this one. Uxie and Azelf were basically Bidoofs compared with Mesprit. I'm assuming you've defeated Cyrus on top of Mt Coronet (Spear Pillar) and now the 3 spirits have gone back into the caves.

For starters - you won't be able to catch Mesprit the way you caught the other two. Go up to it, talk to it, and then...poof! It decides to disappear. Rowan will come talk to you - apparently Mesprit wants to play a game with you and is now roaming all over Sinnoh, waiting for you to come find it. Fun. But how the heck do you find Mesprit? Rowan will talk about a Pokemon Tracking Device - it's a Poketch app that allows you to see where roaming Pokemon are. Makes things SO much easier.

Once you've got the PTD from Jubilife, Fly to a place where there is plenty of grass in both routes (I suggest the routes north and to the Northeast of Soloceon, but it depends on your preference. Stock up on Repels, and get ready to take on the beast! If you have a Master Ball, completely disregard the next part, as you won't need it. If you don't want to use it, carry on reading.

Mesprit runs EVERY TIME you try to battle it. So here's a suggestion for Pokemon that can help capture Mesprit:

- A fast grass/electric type, preferably Lv. 45-54 with a paralyze inducing move (Pokemon to consider are Pikachu/Raichu and Jumpfluff)

- A Pokemon with Arena Trap, Wobbuffet/Dugtrio/Trapinch (first being favoured)

With the app up on your Poketch, start cycling/running between the two routes. Watch CAREFULLY where Mesprit's icon goes - when it shows up in the route you are on, stop and head to the nearest patch of grass. Use Repel, put your status-inducer up front and get ready.

When you find Mesprit, immediatley use the status move. If you're lucky, the paralysis will stop it from running on your first turn and you can inflict a little damage. When it runs, switch your Arena-Trapping Pokemon up front and repeat the process for getting Mesprit on the same route as you.

When Mesprit appears again, it CAN'T run because of the Arena Trap ability (basically the ONLY use for this ability is to trap legendaries). If you're using Wobbuffet, use Mirror Coat to slowly take down Mesprit's health (it only knows Confusion as an attacking move, so pretty simple). Any other - simply attack but DO NOT FAINT IT. Once it's down to a sliver of health, chuck Ultra Balls at it until you get it. You may have to try a number of times, so get stocked up (50+) and be ready to take a while...

Go to lake verity, and in the center of the lake there should be a cavern, once you enter mesprit will be there, however once you interact with it, it will run away. It can then be found roaming sinnoh, like the legendary birds and creselia

First of all, you should get a Pokemon which has high speed (I used a Crobat)and teach it False Swipe which is TM54 (leaves at least 1hp) and either Mean Look or Block (To stop it from running away). Make sure that you only use False Swipe because it will always stop it from fainting. Also, never switch Pokemon, it lets Mesprit get away. Alwaus stock up on Quick balls and Ultra balls. Use Mean Look or Block firstand then use False Swipe. Also, Before walking into the grass, use a repel or a max repel to guarantee that you will encounter Mesprit.just like Pokemon pearl i have you go were you got your starter Pokemon you will see the lake rised use surf make sure you got dialga and you will see mesprit once you talk to it will show a picture will appear adding mesprit to your pokedex it will disapear and rowan will talk to you if you have other games bring max or super repels and its just like suicune,entei,riacou,latias,and latios mesprit flees so i sugess you bring a Pokemon that knows mean look or bring a brozong evoves from brosing at lv33 use a Pokemon that can paralize mesprit and bring mesprits hp down to red or yellow and chuck ultraballs at it but to find mesprit go to one town and walk out the town and walk keep doing it until you find mesprit. mesprit is at lv50 this is in Pokemon diamond and pearl the rare Pokemon in diamond is dialga,uxie,mesprit,azelf,giratina,phione,manaphy,heatran,regigigas,cresselia,darkrai,shaymin,and arceus. azelf and uxies lake are near snowpoint city and near pastoria town one more thing in Pokemon ranger the manaphyegg pass word is D6F-43H7 you can trade the egg over to hatch a lv1 manaphy breed it to get phione. to trade the egg make sure you have two ds and select ranger net and select cheack the egg in your diamond or pearl and go to the nearest poke mart talk to man in a green suit and he will give you egg. hope this helps go to the center of lake verity when you have surf
