I dont think there is a way to erase data but you can create other sims and save them in the file of a sim you dont want anymore
If by reset you mean delete your data files then once logged in you simply go to options and then click on erase personal data.

L+R+A+B+X+Y while the Nintendo logo is displayed will work for many Nintendo games. If you are using an R4 or other flashcart, you can simply delete the file [ROM filename].SAV

you have to start a new game then save in the save file you want erased, hope it helped!
If you want to delete all your saved data, press "Options" on the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Go down to "Erase Data." Also, if you turn off your DS when data is being erased, some data will be deleted but some will not!
