It's confusing. Go to the menu and then click on fresh elephants and use the arrow keys to move the elephant to the button. Note and vital, this must be on the menu screen. After this is achieved then go to start/continue the level and the barrier will be gone. Then walk through the pipe and finally it's over. It took me a long time to figure that out.
