How do you beat Cruel Melee on Super Smash Bros. Brawl?

You can never actually "beat" Cruel Brawl. You can however, defeat enough enemies to earn a particular trophy. Here are various methods of doing Cruel Brawl and earning as many kills as possible:

• Use Pikachu, stand at the edge of the stage, and use his Down-A smash to make them fall off the stage.
• With Ike or Kirby, pick a ledge of the stage to grab onto. As enemies make their way over, fall down and use his Up-B move to hit some enemies and bring yourself back up to grab the ledge. This might knock off some of them off.
• This technique works with Kirby, Pit, and Jiggypuff. Grab onto the ledge of the stage and wait for enemies to approach. Jump off and away from the stage and hope some enemies come after you. Use your Down-A, "Footstool Jump" (jumping on someone's head), or other attacks to knock them down. Your character may have extra jumps (Pit must use his Up-B), but make sure you make it back to the ledge before you exhaust them all.
• A variant of the above technique is to, instead of attacking, float under the stage and grab onto the opposite ledge. The goal here is to get some enemies to jump off the stage first and for them to try and pursue you to their death. Jiggypuff has an advantage since her Pound (Side-B) can be use in place of a jump to gain some distance.
