The Pokemon that can evolve can evolve with: Reaching a certain level, leveling with a certain held item, leveling with high happiness, using a stone on it (NOT Everstone), leveling during day/night, trading the Pokémon, trading the Pokémon with a certain held item, leveling up the Pokémon at day/night with high happiness/certain held item, leveling up with a high Beauty condition or leveling up at a certain area. Not true. Most Pokemon evolve through levelling, but some Pokemon (like Machoke and Haunter) evolve through being traded. Some Pokemon (like Pichu and Togepi) evolve through being happy, and some Pokemon (like Eevee) can evolve by being levelled up in certain areas, no matter what level they actually are. Only the act of gaining a level in a certain area will prompt them to evolve (into something like Leafeon). :)

As well as Pokemon evolve through using special stones such as a water stone
