Sonic visited West Side Island and while he was away from his plane, Tails stalked him for a while. Later that early afternoon Tails looks at Sonic's plane and then finds Sonic sleeping under it. He later sees the nearby forests explode as Robotnik has arrived and Sonic wakes up and decides to work with Tails.
Tails saw Sonic's plane, the Tornado, land on West Side Island. Sonic explored the island as Tails followed from behind. Early afternoon came and Tails the Tornado and finds Sonic asleep under the plane. Then, the forests neary explode as Robotnik/Eggman has arrived to wreak havoc and Tails finds Sonic awake, and the two decide to work together.
