How Frank got infected is unknown.Frank Possibly got infected sometime while he was roaming the mall (not in gameplay but in storyline)remember Jessie got infected with a tiny scratch that frank and brad cannot see so its possible frank got infected with a small scratch he got at the very end of the game.It's possible to play the whole not get bit or scratched by a zombie and still be infected so its a storyline mechanic. also Frank also got blood on him in a cutscene witch is in the story so im guessing Frank got infected from blood getting on him.also the parasite can be airborne so im not surprised frank inhaled some of the larve
