The Red Heart Event happens on the mountain top on a sunny day at 10:00pm.
It won't work unless Cliff has a Red Heart and you have seen all the event before that one.

In harvest moon Ds or Harvest moon ds cute you need to collect 60 out of the 101 sprites because then the harvest goddess will return. After that once the girl is on yellow heart keep giving her like one piece of jewellery you have dug up with the hoe from the mines each day and once the heart is at orange the blue feather will be on sale at Karen's market. Once the girl has a big red heart give that girl the blue feather and you should be able to marry her. I have not got this far but i have read in guides and thought i'd pass on the info. Her heart, along with every other available girl's hearts, should be black as a default. If you've completed the black heart event, then you can now raise her heart to purple. I would recommend giving her jewelry found in the excavation site in the northeastern part of the valley. Use your how to unearth it. At 10,000 heart points her heart will be purple.

Yes. In Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl for the PSP the game will end if you get married as the girl character. So if you marry Cliff or any other guy the game will end. However, it will not end if you play as the boy character.
