Mew is found in a patch of grass surrounded by trees slightly East of Cerulean City. You can catch Mew after completing Misty's badge (which lets you use Cut) and obtaining the HM move containing Cut from the Captain on the S.S. Anne. Then you head on over to that area East of Cerulean (You can't miss it, really), cut the tree, then press "A" on Mew. A battle immediately initiates, without any pokemon "cry" or written text. Lower its health and use Poke Balls (that's all I did), and tada, you can catch mew! You can also re-battle and re-catch the pokemon any time. Its Sprite never disappears. The only problem is that you can't use the dang thing after its in your hands. It is disobedient, and therefore you can't trade it. Also, I tried obtaining it using my Pal Park on Soul Silver, and the console doesn't even come up in the main menu. So it is worthless to have Mew in Pokemon Dark Cry Version. However, you CAN trade any of the other pokemon (like bulbasaur, and totodile or "shinx") just fine to other GBA pkmn games.

Pokemon dark cry version is an illegal game, it is a fake.
You can't find Mew in Pokémon Silver.
its impossible unless a mewtwo event happens...
Of corse they do! Remember in the movie ''Lucario and the Mystery of Mew'' how Mew got sick? Exactly. And in Pokemon HeartGold Version when you have to help out that lighthouse Ampharos? Exactly. And when Ash threw up in Pikachu's face? Exactly.
Mew can be migrated from Pokemon Emerald if that game was participated in the Japanese Mew event to get the Old Sea Map or have 999 Pokemon in Pokemon Ranch and Hailey will give you Mew.
