You can't. Unfortunately, the .gcf files are not enough. Someone would have to rip every single model and reverse engineer them for hl2 non-episodic, and nobody is going to do that. The only way to solve this is to have the Episode 2 or wait for someone to do that, or do it yourself to the models of your liking.
Half-Life, Half-Life: Blueshift, Half-life: Opposing Force, Half-life: High Definition pack (might not classify as a game), Half-Life: Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Eight games total not including countless mods created by fans that you can download for free on moddb.com and fileplanet.com. Other games by Valve software include Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Portal, Portal 2, Counter Strike, Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress, Team Fortress 2, and Alien Swarm. Another Half-Life game would be Half-Life: Decay. You might also be able to count Half-Life Deathmatch and Half-Life 2 Deathmatch.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two was supposed to be released on October 9 2007 for Xbox360, Playstation 3 and PC. The development team that worked on Half-Life 2: Episode One was working simultaneously with the team that worked on Half-Life 2: Episode Two so when they were using the same program to develop it, they could fix any bugs that were to appear on each other's progress. Half-Life 2: Episode Two was released for PC and Xbox 360 on October 9 2007 as Valve anounced, but the team that was working on the game for Playstation 3 was working in the UK so they had some issues communicating with the other teams in the US, and so, the release for Half-Life 2: Episode Two for Playstation 3 was delayed a few more months than it should have.
Towards the end of the game
Half -life 2 has not been realsed for free. altough you could torrent it for free using U-torrent or bit torront.
Any Source game. This includes: Half-Life 2 (You pretty much get stuff from this in any Source game) Half-Life 2: Episode 1 Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Team Fortress 2 Portal Counter-Strike: Source Day of Defeat: Source Get any 2 or more of these and you should be set to go, but I really honestly suggest getting all of them, its only about $50 (if you get the $30 Orange Box, which contains all Half-Life 2 games, Portal, and Team Fortress 2, then get CS:S for $20) Alternatively, Team Fortress 2 is now Free-to-Play and downloading that will allow you to play Gary's Mod, or any other Source mod!
There is a Half Life 2 Episode 3 coming in 2012.
no
You can't, but Half Life 2 Episode 3 supposedly has it.
Half Life 2 Half Life 2: Episode 1 Half Life 2: Episode 2 Portal Team Fortress Hope this helps ;)
Some games on Steam do. These games include: Day of Defeat: Source Left 4 Dead 2 Team Fortress 2 Half-Life 2 Portal Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Counter-Strike Source Alien Swarm ( Free on Steam) Half-Life 2:Episode 1 Left 4 Dead Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
you start with half life 2, then you play half life 2 episode 1, then you play half life 2 episode 2, so you are basically playing them in the order they are in at the game select screen (where you choose any of the half life games, portal or tf2)

Garry's Mod requires only that you have one Source game. This includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode One, Half-Life 2 Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life: Source, Portal, and a few others. However, if you have Half-Life 2 Episode One, you will only be able to experience Half-Life 2 Episode One (and Garry's Mod) content. You won't be able to fight alongside Griggs and Sheckley with a home-made "Antlion Dispatcher", or be teased with cake while solving complex puzzles using the portal gun, physgun and toolgun.Long answer short, you should only need Half-life 2 Episode One in order to play Garry's Mod, but you can experience more of Valve's games in Garry's Mod if you have all of Half-Life 2.
soon!
