Hi, I am not sure what you mean. When the projection screen is rolling up or down and it's electric, you pause it by using the switch or remote (depending on what you're using). If you are talking about the image on the projector screen, that's controlled by the player, so to pause what you're seeing, you would put the DVD player (or whatever your source is) in pause-mode.
