This for if you have it on an HDMI TV, have help the button in and waited for the second beep on the ps3, and have tried with using the HDMI Device and Not using it. Resulting in the screen still being black with sound only.
Hold the button in for the second beep again, but this time. Go to YES on the first notice, then NO, on the next notice.
The second notice wants to enhance the settings even more which could confuse your TV.
Hope this helps, it helped me.
Settings for MC.
The information for that model indicates that it has a HDMI input that should be connected to both the TV and the PS3. You must purchase the optional HDMI cable and the TV setting must be set to the HDMI if it does not automatically change to that when you turn on the settings. a link to the PlayStation knowledge center
Why would you want to when the RCA cable is only for 480i picture and the HDMI is for HDTV. If your TV can work with the HDMI cables then it is a HDTV and the will not provide the same results with an RCA connection. Anyway the HDMI cable is capable of sync and can adjust the setting and automatically switch your TV to the PS3 when you turn on the PS3 slim model (earlier models do not have this feature). You need to go to the PS3 settings and the TV settings to correctly reflect the 480i signal and to manually turn your TV to the PS3 input location every time you now want to use it with the RCA connection. You will also have to manually switch it back when you want to watch TV instead of playing the PS3. The PS3 does have the ability to have the video reset to the lowest level which will allow the RCA cables to work again. This is done by holding down the power button for two beeps while the system is turned off. That is supposed to reset the video to the lowest level according to instructions
You need a system that works with TV otherwise you could just plug the HDMI into it and adjust the settings for it to work
no PS2 does not have a HDMI
Because the HDMI adjusted your settings and you need to correct them
you will need to plug in the power while play through hdmi. otherwise it won't work.
take out your graphics card hit it with a sledge hammer. factory settings is when the graphics card doesnt even work. honestly just kidding about the sledge hammer

you can try to reset your ps3 picture by turning off you ps3 and turning it on while holding the button until you hear a second beep noise. (this will reset your video settings so if its on HDMI it will go back to EXT) If that doesnt work you should probaly call sony helpdesk about it australia: 1300 365 911 UK: 08705 99 88 77
Your PC's video settings may need to be changed in order to enable the HDMI output. Check your video card control panel.
It may be on hold, If not, reset it
The HDMI cable should be plugged in to an HDTV. If you have a Laptop or PC with a HDMI plug slot on it is also so it can be plugged in to a HDTV and is an out HDMI PLUG SLOT like the one that is on the PS3. Some HDMI cables that are sold are of low quality and do not work, stick with brand name cables that are not purchased from highly counterfeit sources in overseas locations.
if u have to reset it , press reset if that doesnt work switch it off and switch it onn again
Use the HDMI cable if the TV has one and change the TV over to HDMI or whatever HDMI PLUG number you used if you have more than one. Some TVs also need to have settings changed to accept HDMI and the sync.
What you do is hook it up to your PS3 then to your T.V then go to Display Settings on your PS3 and click HDMI and it's going to ask you to switch to the HDMI source then you click ok. It increases the picture and sound making the picture HD and sound clearer. Hope I helped.
