The PSP-1000 is much heavier than the 2000 and 3000. The PSP-2000 and 3000 are very similar though the 3000 has an antiglare screen, a built in microphone and the HOME button has been changed to the PS button.
No, the 3000's screen is not compatible with a PSP-2000.
The PSP 3000 is the third generation of the PSP system, there is also a PSP 2000 (AKA slim). a PSP 1000 (AKA phat). and the PSP go, which is the most recent iteration of the PSP.
They're different shapes at the back, but presumably the smaller PSP 2000 could be fitted with a PSP-1000's outer shell.
The screen resolution on the PSP 2000 is 480x272.

Bassicaly the same; PSP 2000 has Skype and slightly brighter screen
On the PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 series it is the button marked 'Home' on the left of the buttons below the screen. On the PSP-3000 and E1000, it is the same place, but is marked with a PlayStation logo instead.
It might if it is soft. The PSP-1000 is thicker than the PSP-2000, with two protruding bumps either side at the back. The PSP-2000 by comparison lies flat at the back, due to the thinner battery. A PSP-1000 would probably not fit in a hard case designed for the PSP-2000#s flat back, but a more flexible case might accomodate it.
If on the sides your psp sticks out, you have the 1000. If its slim but has no microphone, you have the 2000. If its slim but has a microphone, you have the 3000. The psp go hasn't come out yet but on that the screen slides up.

It depends on the part.
Yes, it should work fine. The number at the end is the PSP's region code, but both are types of PSP 2000 and the components like the screen should be identical.
