No cheat engine does not contain viruses, but because it uses a rootkit to get into the games to get the memory, virus protection such as AVG will pick that up and send you warnings, but no, ive used cheat engine for about two years now. But when you do scan it to be on the safe side, if it picks up something called "hack tool rootkit" i think it is, just ignore it, that's the kit. +cheat engine has never given me a virus.
