For many, such as myself, this is enough. However, there are things Rocksmith leaves out, such as learning the names of notes and how to read staff music. It's also very brief in discussing little things such as how to hold the pick and how to hold the guitar, which can cause problems if you're practicing inefficiently. I'd say that Rocksmith is a fine beginner tool if you supplement it with information from other sources, such as a friend who plays guitar or a website for learning guitar.
