If you own a physical game disc (And don't expect to download it via PlayStation Store) than yes. You can't get any extra content, update the game, or play any multiplayer that isn't split screen, but you can play any single player games or splitscreen multiplayer games with no problem whatsoever.

You need an internet connection only to provide full use of the Playstation 3 system. You will not be able to download Netflix movies play online games or get game and console automatic updates from the internet. Nor will you be able to make purchases from the Playstation Store, browse the internet, play Playstation Home, or use many of the PS3 features. You will be able to watch DVDs and Blue Ray discs (If connected to HDTV with HDMI) and play all the games that are available in game discs. Many games have multiplayer only online, but there are two and more player offline games that you will be able to play with someone if you have a second controller and that game.

The PS3 was designed and developed to have an internet connection and if you already have cable or DSL internet service you should connect it
