You will see an event to do with arceus and Cynthia and three pokeballs will appear. In them are palkia dialga and giratina. You can only choose one. You have to have an empty slot in your party for this to happen in the first place though.If you have an arceus then you can go to the ruins and trigger this trippy event where you see the world forming and stuff and then it gives you the option of taking a lvl 1 dialga, palkia or giratina

You can also get legends from migrating. So it's technacly all of them. but giratina is caught before you even see dialga or palkia

First you have to beat all of the Pokemon league then you have to go to Spear Pillar the same place where you went into the diversion world and catch Giratina. So anyways you see a blue portal and you go to it and click the you battle Dialga and after Dialga go into the cave where you were in before you got to Spear Pillar then come back out and you will find a purplish portal so you do the same thing with it that you did with Dialga's portal and Palkia will come.

According to my gaming 'professional' son, you have to trade with someone that has Pokemon Diamond to get Dialga. To get Palkia, you have to go through the storyline until you get to Spear Pillar. Then, battle Cyrus for the last time and you will have one opportunity to catch Palkia. If you miss him, then you'll have to reload or start over so be sure to save just before the battle with Cyrus.

How do you get a Palkia Dialga and Giratina?
In Pokemon Platinum, you go to Spear Pillar at the very top of Mount Coronet. (You don't have to get beat the Pokemon League for any of this) Than, there should be a portal. Go through it into the Distoration world. Be sure have brought Ultra Balls, Master Balls, or stuff to catch Giratina. Than, after getting through, battle Galactic criminals (Including Cirus) Giratina should be at the end. Save before battling him (Unless your using a Master Ball) Than go through the next portal back to Spear Pillar. Return anytime later and Dialga and Palkia well be there (I forget if they appear before or after going through the Distoration World) After catching 1 the other will disappear. Return again after talking to an old lady about Palkia/Dialga (Depends on which one you caught) than he will be there. And always remember to save before battling any of these Pokemon.
