Yeah go to the phone click service call the pet adoption service and choose you animal or go to your neighborhood click lots (the ones already built) but not the houses the community lots and click the pet store put it in ur neighborhood and go back to the place where u wanted ur sims to have pets and go to the pet store click buy for a dog or cat and u get to customize it or when you create a family click create dog or cat btw u need sims 2 pets for this
