Yes the PS2 was released 11 years ago and is nearing the end of it's life cycle. New games are not being developed for the system at the rate of the newer systems. The PS2 does not have a harddrive and does not play in 1080p like the PS3. The main advantage of the PS2 over the PS3 is that it is cheaper, but it lacks the technological advances of the PS3.
