Actually the answer is no and yes. My son completely submerged his skylanders in tap water. I allowed them to dry for about 3 days before using them, and they work just fine. I wouldn't recommend submerging them on purpose, but they only have a microchip and don't actually have electricity running through them. So if this has happened to you let them dry completely and try them again before giving up on them.
