The finest Pink Catawba wine I ever tasted was from Bretz's Winery on Middle Bass Island Ohio. Unfortunately the skill to make it died with Lesley Bretz. If you have never tasted Pink Catawba wine you should add it to fine, delicate tastes you will always remember.The second best Pink Catawba wine was also made on Middle Bass Island by George Lonz who operated Lonz Winery, not making wine anymore. I still have a wine tasting glass he gave me. On it are the words "Good wine will make glad the heart of man".The Lake Erie Islands are an ideal place to grow first quality grapes.
