At Christmas Eve we have Ceia de Natal or Christmas dinner, traditionally we serve Peru Assado, a roast turkey which may be decorated with fruits like pineapple slices, preserved peaches, most people roast a Pernil pork leg. There is also Farofa made of manioc flour mixed with spices, bacon bits, grated carrots (at will), you may have Arroz white rice or Arroz à Grega rice with raisins, peas, grated carrots (at will). Desserts are Panettone (italian influence), passion fruit or lime Mousse, brazilians love Pudim de Leitewhich may remind you a flan, but tastier. This is our traditional dinner, though it may vary by region.

It depends on which region you are talking about.

North-East is famous for their Vatapá and Acarajé and typical food from this region, specially from Bahia.

South-East, as the most urbanized and developed region, has a mix of cultures, foreign and national cultures, so it's hard to tell a specific kind of food for this region. The same time they eat Feijoada (a tipical food made with beans), they eat junk food, as fast food, and other kinds of foods. That's why it's hard to tell.

Southern region is famous for their meat. They have excelent restaurants that prepare barbecues in a very special way, making it really tasty.

Also in South region, because of the presence of eurpoean people descendents, like germans, there are others tipical food in this region, like sausage and some pepper.

The national dish is said to be feijoada (pork and beef stew with black beans, usually served with white rice and cassava). Brazilians also famously enjoy churrascos (barbecues) and snacks of all kinds, such as queijo coalho (cheese on a stick), bolinhos de bacalau (cod fritters), coxinhas (chicken in batter, shaped as a raindrop and deep-fried), etc.

A good Brazilian Christmas recipe is the traditional main turkey dish, or the traditional meat and black bean soup. The former is called Ceia do Natal, which translates as 'turkey of Christmas'. The latter is called Feijoada, which means 'bean soup'. There are many variations on both dishes. But essential ingredients in the Christmas turkey include the following: marination in salt, mustard, garlic, and black pepper. The turkey may be roasted with a baste of lime juice, olive oil, and vinegar; and with a cover of bay leaves, parsley, and sliced onions and scallions. The dark meats may be served with a buttery, black pepper and salt-seasoned dressing of chopped peaches and Prunes, giblets, hardboiled eggs, manioc, parsley, raisins, and sliced onions and scallions. The light meats may be served with fruits such as peaches and prunes. A rich meat and black bean soup includes many meats, such as spareribs, sausage, pork, and bacon. The black beans and meats are seasoned with black pepper. And celery, garlic, and onions are added.
