CinnamonA teaspoon of ground cinnamon weighs about 2.8 grams. But your question asks how many teaspoons are in one gram.

Obviously, a gram of cinnamon will BE LESS than one teaspoon, since it takes 2.8 grams of the spice to fill one teaspoon. So, what's the answer, or how do you figure it out?

Find the reciprocal of 2.8. In other words, divide one by 2.8. One divided by 2.8 is 0.357:

1 / 2.8 = 0.357

So, we can say that a gram of cinnamon has a volume of 0.357 teaspoon, which is a little bit more than one-third of a teaspoon.

Therefore, we come away with two closely related facts:

1) Cinnamon has a density of 2.8 grams per teaspoon, and

2) One gram of cinnamon has a volume of 0.357 teaspoon.

I think it's 1/5 of a teaspoon: One teaspoon equals 1/6 oz. And since 1 oz. equals 28.4 grams, divide 28.4 by 6 and you get 4.73 grams per teaspoon. That's close to 5, so a gram is about 1/5 of a teaspoon. Sorry I'm so wordy. from mosteses asomeist spellur evr

According to another answer here on Answers.com, a teaspoon of cinnamon weighs 2.8 grams. In other words, its density is 2.8 g/tsp. But you want to know how many teaspoons one gram of cinnamon will be. Well, it's only a fraction of one teaspoon. If we take the reciprocal of 2.8 g/tsp we get 0.36 tsp/g. That is, one gram of cinnamon will be a bit more than a third of a teaspoon.
