Was told today that they only give discount to active duty.....not retirees, reserve, or non-traditional military.....Has anyone else ran into this....personally I think it's crap.

We went to the Golden Corral at 400 South Independence Boulevard

Virginia Beach, VA on November 1,2012 with my son-in-law. He is active duty Army and will be deploying to Afghanistan. This particular Golden Corral gives NO military discounts period, except for on November 12th from what the manager said. Wow, one day out of the year is such a big act of generosity for them! We live in a predominantly military area and I am appalled that they do not recognize the sacrifice that these young men and women give for our country. Most businesses in our area give a military discount of one kind or another. The military and their families are the biggest customer base for businesses. If the military left this area most businesses would go out of business. The manager at this Golden Corral was very rude too. We will be contacting corporate but doubt if they will do much about it. They do have veterans at this location who basically ask for donations but from what I have seen, they do not get anything from that particular Golden Corral except a place to stand by the door.
