The USDA has indicated that 1/2 cup of any fruit or vegetable is 1 serving size. Baby carrots might be 10 to a serving while large carrots may be only 1 to a serving.

A serving is not the same as a portion. A serving is a specific amount used for determining the nutritional content of a food. A portion is the amount typically served with a meal. Often vegetable portions run from 1/2 cup for peas or chopped vegetables to 2 cups (4 servings) for various root vegetables.

It depends what else is being served. In a 3 veg and meat dinner, 4 ounces is a serving of each item.

The normal serving is considered to be 4 ounces. It is pretty dense stuff and I think that is pretty light. And it will depend on what else is being served.
