There are a few things you can do to slow strawberry spoilage:

* Purchase firm, clean, unbruised and dry berries. The fresher, the better. * Keep them refrigerated, 40°F or below. * Do not wash them until you are ready to use them. * Handle them gently to prevent bruises and crushed berries. * Check them frequently and remove any that show signs of spoilage. * Only buy the amount that you can use within a few days.

Growing, harvesting and distribution conditions have a lot to do with how long strawberries will last and you have no control over those.

You can freeze them in a ziplock bag if you want to keep them for a long time
