McCormick's website (http://www.mccormick.com/Spices101/HowOldSpices.aspx) offers a code translation. Enter the product's code (like 3026A, found on the jar bottom) and city (like Baltimore, found on the label). It will return the date this spice was made (1-26-88, ouch!) along with a recommendation to buy fresher spice.
