Yes if not refrigerated after opened the chambord will turn brown and not taste good, it should be a dark purple color and smell sweet.

I just found my bottle of chambord that has been opened for about a year and it is indeed brown. Though it does smell ok, it had a weird brown sludge at the bottom of the bottle that was disgusting. Definitely refrigerate!!
