I was passing through Salt Lake City, Utah recently. I had read great reviews on an item and heard that Bed, Bath & Beyond had a 20% off coupon for the item on line. I printed the coupon, went to the store and picked up the item. When I went to pay I handed the cashier the coupon and he noticed my military retiree ID card in my wallet and told me that I did not need the coupon. That store offers ALL military a 20% discount on any one item or a 10% discount for numerous items. I was so pleased that I went back two days later, bought another item. showed my military ID card and received a 20% discount.
Back home in Hawaii I wanted to buy the same item at our local store. I asked about a military discount and they looked at me like I was crazy. The assistant manager was called and he said that he never heard of this chain giving military discounts. I told him to check with Utah. My local store had a coupon in the paper for 20% off so I just used that, but I won't be shopping at my local store anymore.
