By 1891 Bell had begun experiments to develop motor-powered heavier-than-air aircraft. He founded the Aerial Experiment Association (AEA), a Canadian-American aeronautical research group, on 30 September 1907. The group built and flew four flying machines, the Red Wing, White Wing, June Bug, and Silver Dart. All four aircraft made record achievements in the history of flight during 1908 and 1909. The Silver Dart is on permanent display at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, Canada.
