You star in CBS's "2 Broke Girls" as Han Lee, the owner of the Williamsburg Diner and boss to Caroline (Beth Behrs) and Max (Kat Dennings). What's it like to star as their boss?

It's fun. As their boss, I get to order them around a lot. Whether or not they listen to me half the time, that's a different question! But seriously, we have known each other for 4 years, so it's like family there. We joke around a lot.

How have you seen Han's character evolve since season 1?

Absolutely. He's had a couple of love interests, and he's become much more than just the owner of the diner. He always eventually helps the girls with their other business ventures - and he's not afraid to stand up for himself!

What is new with Han this season?

The girls expand their cupcake business into making cupcake t-shirts, and Han helps by using his artistic side, so to speak. Then towards the end of the season, the girls take on another waitressing job...and Han definitely notices. He's always watching!

"2 Broke Girls" is taped in front of a live studio audience. How important is this to the dynamic of the show?

Very important. There's a certain bright, positive energy that comes from the live laughter of the audience that we the actors feed off of. It keeps us on our toes!

Are there any challenges that come with filming in front of a live audience?

It's a little nerve-wracking performing in front of 200 people and simultaneously filming for 4 cameras while trying to remember all your lines.

What's the funniest thing that's happened during a live taping that wasn't originally scripted?

During the episode where we meet Han's mom and Han's stripper, I accidentally called the mother the stripper's name. I think we kept that for the outtakes.

With Beth and Kat constantly joking around, it could be hard for your character, Han Lee, to get a word in. How does Han play into the show's quirky and offbeat sense of humor?

Oh, Han always gets a word in too. He makes sure to, and he always makes sure to rub it in the girls' faces when something they're doing isn't working. That, or he laughs hysterically.

Do you have a favorite joke or line from any of the "2 Broke Girls" seasons?

"When you fake smile, everybody else fake smiles back." It's an old school season one joke from Han, but it's so deep. I just can't help but wonder what other philosophical things Han thinks about in his free time. Are these just things he came up with in the shower? Who knows!

Why did you decide to audition for the role of Han Lee in "2 Broke Girls"?

Everyone attached to do the show was amazing. It was a huge opportunity for me to work with such great people. Then we all meshed very well in the end because everyone is so friendly. It was wonderful how it all worked out.

What originally led you into the world of acting?

I originally moved to LA for voice-over work. But I wasn't making enough money at first and I needed to pay rent, so on-camera acting was my other plan. Seven years later, and now I can pay the rent. Sweet!
