SADLY NO. I have check everywhere and they've all said that the director hardly every makes sequels. Plus, anime movies hardly ever make sequels. So probably not. Unless some GIFTED UNDERSTANDING PERSON gives it a chance? *hint hint to any pasing director/producer* C;
No they will not because the man running it turned 60 while he was making that and he said after that film they wont make anymore because he is too old to carry on. :(

Sorry to butt in on your answer above, but Hayao miyazaki has made two more movies since Spirited Away. Howl's Moving Castle (Awesome) and Ponyo. He also has signed contracts to make two more movies with Studio Ghibli. So perhaps there is still hope, but I highly doubt he will make a sequel. He hasn't for any of his other movies. Which is actually best because it means each new movie is a whole new idea with a new story and new characters to fall in love with! I'm really excited to see what the future holds. Miyazaki is an amazing writer with a wonderful imagination. Nobody will ever be able to do it like him.
But Hayao Miyazaki is making Porco Rosso 2 so why not start by making Spirited Away 2 ____________ Are they really making porco rosso two? So. You're right. They should make a sequel of spirited away cause they didn't end it well. Chihiro and Haku promised each other that they will meet again. They should make one. Spirited away is the first hayao Miyazaki film that I have ever seen and when the movie ended I was expecting a sequel bcoz of the ending but I was shock that he is a kind of man that never makes sequels. If I someone can give me their website I will really suggest them to make a sequel of it. And it is not an excuse to not make a sequel bcoz it's cheap. It's not about being cheap. But it's about the movie, you should ignore the people saying negative things about you coz they're just insecure coz they don't have the talent. I hope that hayao Miyazaki will realize that he has to make one, lots of fans of spirited away wanted to see spirited away 2. I really hope that they will make one and make a perfect ending.
No it does not and I do not believe that it will ever have a sequel. Miyazaki is not the sort of person to make sequels.
Also, based on the plot in the Japanese version, there are definite hints of there not being a sequel.
In the human world, Haku's (or Kohaku's) river was destroyed because humans wanted to make apartments there. In Japanese traditional legends, usually when a spirit's home or true form is destroyed, it fades away and dies. At the end of the movie, Haku tells Chihiro not to look back until she is past the gate in the human world. I interpret this as Haku not wanting Chihiro to see him die and let her emotions trap her in the Spirit World. After she makes it across the gate, she forgets her experience in the Spirit World. (In the English dub, they add an extra to make it seem that she remembers it, but Chihiro not remembering it is canon) This movie is also based on the passage of maturity of Chihiro. The Spirit World was an obstacle that Chihiro had to pass if she was to grow up. It's very unlikely that she will return. However, it is possible that she may meet Haku again.(reincarnation)
Now before people wonder, "But Haku didn't die right away when his river was destroyed!" A spirit's life also depends on the ties to the real world or an incomplete mission. Haku still had Chihiro and his name was taken by Yubaba(Not allowing him to die or leave). After he discovered his name and helped Chihiro make it back home, he became free.
It could also be implied that he was killed by Yubaba because in the scene where Yubaba realizes that Bo was missing (in the japanese version), she tells Haku that she will destroy him. But I would prefer not to settle it here. There are many many theories, and I would like to hear them all!

Spirited Away was made in Japan by Hayao Miyazaki in 2001.
There is not going to be a Spirited Away 2 Hayao Miyazaki is not one to make sequels. Haven't you ever watched Castle in the Sky, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, or any of his other films? You'll notice that none of them have sequels. Though it would be so awesome, there will never be a Spirited Away 2. DIFFERENT VEIW: I also have not known to be a sequel....YET!! When he ended Spirited Away, regardless of what any one says, it isn't really complete. Hatsu promised Chiroshi (sorry if theres mispelling) that they would see each other again, so they have to right? If Hayao really thinks about it, im sure he could make a sequal to Spirited Away.
