Why was Family Guy cancelled?

When it returned for Season 2, it was placed against Frasier on Thursdays at 9pm which caused its ratings to fall. It was removed from the schedule and aired sporadically which caused further ratings slippage. It returned in March 2000 on Tuesdays but still lost to Who Wants to be a Millionaireso at the end of the second season it was announced it would be cancelled.

However, a change in FOX execs gave it a second chance and Family Guy returned for Season 3 in November 2001. However not learning from their first mistake FOX put it against Friends and Survivor and the ratings suffered. FOX again tried changing days during the 3rd season but the damage was done and was cancelled officially in May 2002.

Obviously due to excellent ratings on Cartoon Network's adult swim and sales of the DVDs, FOX returned Family Guy to TV in May 2005 where it has been going ever since.

You need money to run a website and Family Guy Online did not have enough of it so they were forced to shut down.
