In the book Mommie Dearest Christina told what happened. Shortly before Thanksgiving Christina called her mother to ask her about coming home. Joan was in a bad mood and blasted Christina about Christmas List and told her to have a Christmas List by the next time they talked. The list Christina compiled was not good enough for Joan so she said that all four children would not be coming home and that as punishment they also would not be continuing at the school that they had been attending. Several days after Thanksgiving Christina was picked up and taken to Flintridge.
San Juan, Puerto Rico is the location of the fictional Convent of San Tanco found in the television series, "The Flying Nun", but there was and is no real convent by that name that the sitcom convent was based on. There IS however, a real Saint Tanco numbered among Roman Catholic saints, so WAS there ever a Convent San Tanco/Saint Tanco? Possibly!
