I just read that Connie Francis is not in the Hall of Fame which put me in a state of shock. Is Hollywood nuts????? Don't answer that--I know they are!! Ms. Frances has the greatest voice of all times. Her voice is like an angel while expressing a genuineness of "feelings" like no other singer--EVER--of all times. From the first time I heard her singing, "Who's Sorry Now" in the 50's and to this day, no Female Rock & Roll Singer has surpassed her. As for the article that says that Ms. Francis still challenges Madonna as the top female singer of all times, I consider that to be an insult to Connie Francis. Madonna can't even sing--she just does a lot of tricks and gyrations. We need to get back to LISTENING to the voice of our singers--instead of the visual nonsenses of today, or whether or not they wrote the song....and that includes rap which requires no singing talent whatsover.A gifted singer does not need to be a gifted songwriter; they are 2 separate talents and shoud return to being 2 separate talents. Many songwriters can't sing and vice versa. I vote that Connie Francis be immediately put into the Hall of Fame with extensive apologies for this outrageous oversight.
I can think of 250 reasons why she is not in the hall of fame... here are my to 25 reasons:

The best we can do to answer the question of why Connie Francis is not in the Rock-n-Roll "Hall of Fame" is to simply speculate. While Connie Francis began her career singing primarily bubble-gum Rock-n-Roll material she, herself, was actually a wholesome, principled, moral, young lady who was raised in a strict Italian-American household. I believe the recording industry in general regarded her as a "goody two shoes" --- and directly opposite the image Rock-n-Roll wished to present.
Then, Connie branched away from Rock-n-Roll to other adult-oriented material, and excelled in each genre---including ethnic and other-than English languages. Ms. Francis was a perfectionist in the studio, and since she contractually had absolute control over every aspect of her recordings, I suspect she made more than a few enemies in the industry exerting that power.
