In order to create anything, you must do research. When creating a film, no matter what it is about; you must have research, so that everything is correct, from the description of your character to the location of your film, to any particular objects used.

An example of this could be, when making a WW2 film, you would not give an American soldier an AK-47. This is because, the gun was designed by Aleksander Kashelnikov and began being distributed in the year 1947. The gun (if you haven't noticed) is not American, it is Russian and was used by the Soviet Union, before making its way to the Middle-East.
