∙ 12y agoIn the book, she gave him medicine to make him sleep for the day. She ran to the cornucopia and got the pack for district 12. However another girl tackled her and was about to kill her when Thresh came, killed the girl, and let Katniss go. She ran back to the cave, and injected the medicine into Peeta's arm. Later, Peeta was okay, and they both end up winning.

∙ 11y agoBecause she didn't want to loose Peeta, the kid who saved her life by helping her after her father died in a mine explosion and kept her safe during the Games by "joining" the career tributes in order to keep them from hurting Katniss in every way he could
