The 1979 murder of her fiancè Keith Griffin, was a life-altering tragedy...which launched her into becoming a prosecuting attorney/victims rights advocate. It is my belief that her "Goodnight Friend" sign-off is her subtle homage to Keith and daily reminder to herself, as to why she does what she does.
