because love conquers all. love lives on even after death, and continues to live on for all eternity...and even longer!

the ultimate sacrifice is love, Harry's mother sacrificed her life for Harry. love can defeat anything, and it leaves a mark on us all. the ghosts of past love can rebound even the deadliest of spells. Harry Potter survived because his Mother made the ultimate sacrifice by protecting him til her dying breath, therefore bathing him in the glow of her everlasting love :)

Plus one: because nobody could kill him yet.

Voldemort was using Elder wand ....but voldermort was not the true master of Elder want .....it was harry potter....when voldermort casted Killing curse...the curse rebounded and killed the living horcrux inside harry .....

the main point is voldermort used harry potters wand ...so simply wand wont kill his own master...only it can hurt. ...

Well, it was because Lily, Harry's mother, sacrificed herself to protect Harry, and this sacrifice gave Harry a protection against Voldemort. Voldemort was wrong when he thought he annulled this protection when he used Harry's blood to create a new body -- actually he fortified the protection.

There was a Horcrux within Harry when Voldemort fires the killing curse at him and this is destroyed (as it is part of a soul) instead of Harry, although Harry did have the choice of going 'on' or returning to life.
