The original cover showed the band standing in front of a huge fire; the cover was considered too graphic for the time, and was replaced with another picture of the band, in the same poses.

Ronnie Van Zant (Lynyrd Skynyrd) used his real name... but note the different spelling. However, Ronnie Van Zant was the brother of Johnny and Donnie Van Zant (who both Lynyrd Skynyrd at different times). Steven Van Zandt is the half-brother of actor Billy Van Zandt.
