GangStarr officially broke up around 2004, maily due to Guru's drinking problem and, the two members different creative ideas. Unfortunatly, Guru joined Solar around the time of break up releasing several solo albums. Guru died on April of 2010. Hes legacy lives on altough tainted by the ugliness, greed and tyrany of Solar. as for DJ Premier, he is still producing music for his labelmates and a select few other MC's (Royce Da 5'9 etc.) as well as hosting his own show on satalite radio live at HQ.
