To extend Chinese influence throughout the world
The Chinese, under Emperor Zhu Di, built a huge fleet of massive (for the time) treasure ships and sent them around the known world to trade.
Zhu Di, the Yongle Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, conceived the Treasure Fleet to assert China's maritime power, expand trade, and establish diplomatic relations with other nations. By sending large fleets on voyages, he aimed to showcase the wealth and technological advancements of China, strengthen its influence in Asia, and promote tributary relationships. Additionally, the expeditions sought to gather knowledge about foreign lands and cultures, as well as to secure trade routes for the flourishing silk and spice trades.
Zhu Xiao Di was born in 1958.
Di Zhu is 5' 7 1/2".
