Some fans believe they wanted their children's names to start with R & H like their own names. It is also believed that their daughter is named Rose, another type of flower, to honour Lily Evans'

The reason for Rose's name was never specified, but it is thought that it may be in honour of Lily Evans. It is also possible that their children were given names with the same initials as their parents (Ron and Hermione - Rose and Hugo.)
