Debbie Rowe; They were never your typical husband and wife, they only married to make Michael's mother happy, once Debbie had Prince and Paris there was no need to to keep the marriage going.

He wanted children and she didn't and they were fighting which resulted in Michael disappearing for a few weeks, plus Debbie had already become pregnant but later miscarried.
