Freddy Mercury sang the song, but guitarist Brian May wrote it. I don't know if Brian May is gay or not, but what difference does it make? Elvis sang about hound dogs, but it doesn't mean he had sex with them.
Actually the real answer is that gay guys like girls with big asses. Nothin' wrong with that. Big girls need love too.
