Clans are basically the importance in the structure of hidden villages and there shinobi. Example, the Hyuga and the Aburame clan would be great for recon. The Byakugan can see far distances and the Aburame can easily sense chakra with there bugs. Thus resulting in more succesful missions and a more sophisticated village with little wars.
