To my knowledge, Laura Nyro (who wrote it) never said it was about a real person. Songwriters often just choose a name that sounds good in the lyrics, and this seems to be one of those cases. The song itself is about a cheating, dishonorable yet very charming guy who keeps getting the ladies to fall for him and then breaks their hearts. The singer is warning other ladies to beware and not get involved with him because he will just disappoint and then leave them... which seems to be exactly what he did to her.
