"Under Paris Skies" was originally written in French as the title song of the 1951 film Sous le ciel de Paris, which was given the English title Under the Paris Sky. Mitch Miller & His Orchestra spent a week on the charts at number 26 with the song under its English title.

"Clear Skies" wasn't on any album. The drummer, Fabrizio Moretti, wrote the song for his girlfriend, Drew Barrymore. The song was supposed to be used for one of the movie that Drew was doing, but it didn't make it. So it's just a b-side, I guess. I love The Strokes!
